The Hanover Hawks are taking a road trip to challenge the Powhatan Indians at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. Hanover will be looking to extend their current five-game winning streak.
Hanover's hitters will try to repeat the strong performance they gave on Friday, when they got past Cosby's usually-dominant pitching crew. The Hawks walked away with an 11-6 win over the Titans.

Kaileigh Byars was incredible, going 2-for-4 with three runs, one triple, and one stolen base. She has been hot, having posted at least one stolen base the last five times she's played. EmmaKate Irwin also deserves some recognition as she hit her first double of the season.
Meanwhile, Powhatan owes their pitching crew a big pat on the back after their performance on Friday. They came out on top against Monacan by a score of 3-0. The Indians haven't had any issues with the Chiefs recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive victory against them.
Not much got past Brooklyn Narbut, who gave up just two hits and racked up 11 Ks to keep Monacan off the board. Those 11 strikeouts set a new season-high mark for Narbut.
On the hitting side, Powhatan secured the win behind a pair of hitters. One of them was Ava Harper, who went 2-for-3 with two runs.
Powhatan hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Monacan struck out 11 times.
Hanover pushed their record up to 12-7 with the victory, which was their third straight at home. The home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.7 runs on average over those games. As for Powhatan, their record is now 12-7.
Thursday's match will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Hanover hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .319. However, it's not like Powhatan struggles in that department as they've averaged .348. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Hanover came out on top in a nail-biter against Powhatan in their previous meeting back in March of 2024, sneaking past 2-0. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Hawks since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
