Basketball Game Preview: Weeki Wachee Hornets vs. Citrus Hurricanes

The Weeki Wachee Hornets just played yesterday, but they'll still head out to face the Citrus Hurricanes at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Both have had a bumpy ride up to this point with five consecutive losses for Weeki Wachee and 12 for Citrus.

Weeki Wachee came up into this matchup off a tough 24-point loss on Tuesday. This time they kept things ultra-competitive, but unfortunately the final result was the same. They fell just short of Pasco by a score of 75-72 on Thursday. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game on Tuesday (57), the Hornets still had to take the loss.

Meanwhile, Citrus took a blow against Pasco on Wednesday, falling 70-40.

Citrus' defeat dropped their record down to 1-17. As for Weeki Wachee, their loss dropped their record down to 2-19.

Weeki Wachee lost to Citrus on the road by a decisive 90-75 margin in their previous matchup back in December of 2024. Can Weeki Wachee avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
