Softball Recap: Luling Comes Up Short

If Luling was riding high fresh off their 13-0 takedown of Stockdale last Thursday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Eagles took a 7-3 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Karnes City Badgers on Tuesday. The Eagles were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Badgers earlier this season, when they won 15-5.

Zoey Williams was cooking despite her team's loss, going 2-for-4 with two stolen bases, two RBI, and one run. The team also got some help courtesy of Unique Tealer, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with one stolen base and one double.

Luling now has a losing record of 11-12. As for Karnes City, they moved to 6-16 with that win, which also ended their nine-game losing streak.

We've got plenty of inter-district action coming up soon. Luling will challenge rival Nixon-Smiley at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Meanwhile, Karnes City is set to square off against their familiar foe Goliad at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
