PORTA/Ashland-Chandlerville Central put another one in the bag on Thursday to keep their perfect season alive. They snuck past the Bowen Boilermakers with a 48-42 victory. While the Bluejays didn't have the best season last year (they finished 13-18), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past.

Several Boilermakers players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Ahmad Marega, who went 5 of 11 en route to 14 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Jeremiah Carter, who went 5 for 12 on his way to 10 points and seven rebounds.

PORTA/Ashland-Chandlerville Central's win bumped their record up to 6-0. As for Bowen, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-9 record this season.

PORTA/Ashland-Chandlerville Central will be defending their home court for the first time this season when they go up against Rushville-Industry at 6:00 p.m. on January 3, 2025. As for Bowen, they and Beardstown will face off at 12:00 p.m. on Friday without much rest having both just played. Bowen is facing Beardstown at the right time seeing as Beardstown is stuck on a three-game losing streak.
