MARIETTA, Ga. -
Brookwood (Snellville, Ga.) trailed
Lassiter (Marietta, Ga.) by 21 points at one time, but managed to come all the way back and secure a 24-21 victory on Saturday.
The Trojans pulled ahead on a touchdown run by
Lane Jackman, and subsequently went into halftime leading 21-3. The Broncos took the lead for good with a field goal by
Brandon Morrow in the fifth quarter.
Despite scoring three points in the third, Brookwood still trailed by 15 points going into the fourth quarter. But 15 points in the fourth helped BHS pull out the victory.
The Snellville school didn't take the lead for good until the overtime when Morrow kicked a field goal.
Lassiter's
Josh Danforth played well. The senior ran for one touchdown.
Zach Moon stood out for the Broncos in the win. The senior quarterback threw one touchdown.
Brookwood got revenge for last year's 14-6 loss to LHS with the victory.
The victory was a step in the right direction for BHS, which was coming off a 42-13 defeat at the hands of Grayson in its previous game. The loss comes after Lassiter defeated Etowah 34-6 last week.
