Basketball Game Preview: Utica Ford Falcons vs. Utica Chieftains

The Utica Ford Falcons will venture away from home to square off against the Utica Chieftains at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. One thing working in Utica Ford's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last four matchups.

Last Tuesday, Utica Ford didn't have quite enough to beat L'Anse Creuse North and fell 86-83. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game on Friday (67), the Falcons still had to take the loss.

Despite their defeat, Utica Ford saw several players rise to the challenge and make noteworthy plays. Eli Miller, who dropped a double-double on 23 points and 18 boards, was perhaps the best of all. With that strong performance, Miller is now averaging an impressive 16.4 points per game. Nick Pagel was another key player, going 9 for 13 on his way to 20 points.

Meanwhile, Utica was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss dating back to last season. They fell 55-43 to Grosse Pointe North.

Utica's defeat dropped their record down to 0-4. As for Utica Ford, they now have a losing record at 2-3.

Utica Ford came up short against Utica in their previous matchup back in January, falling 70-62. Thankfully for Utica Ford, Mason Brodi (who almost dropped a double-double on 26 points and nine rebounds) won't be suiting up this time. Will that be enough to change the final result?
