Basketball Game Preview: Elk Point-Jefferson Huskies vs. Beresford Watchdogs

The Elk Point-Jefferson Huskies will square off against the Beresford Watchdogs at 6:30 p.m. on Friday.

Elk Point-Jefferson is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another highly-ranked state team: Crofton, who was ranked ninth in their home state at the time (Elk Point-Jefferson was ranked seventh). Elk Point-Jefferson took a 52-47 hit to the loss column at the hands of Crofton.

Meanwhile, Beresford got the win against Garretson on Tuesday by a conclusive 51-26. The Watchdogs have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won eight games by 20 points or more this season.

The win made it two in a row for Beresford and bumps their season record up to 10-8. The wins came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 29.5 points over those games. As for Elk Point-Jefferson, their loss dropped their record down to 15-4.

Elk Point-Jefferson was able to grind out a solid victory over Beresford when the teams last played back in February of 2024, winning 67-55. Does Elk Point-Jefferson have another victory up their sleeve, or will Beresford turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
