Basketball Game Preview: Inglemoor Vikings vs. Mercer Island Islanders

The Inglemoor Vikings will head out on the road to square off against the Mercer Island Islanders at 7:15 p.m. on Wednesday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

On Saturday, Inglemoor came up short against Bellevue and fell 51-44. The Vikings have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Meanwhile, Mercer Island came up short against Bothell on Saturday, falling 74-52. While losing is never fun, the Islanders can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Washington basketball rankings (they are ranked 121st, while the Cougars are ranked 21st).

Mercer Island has been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-11 record this season. As for Inglemoor, their defeat dropped their record down to 10-8.

Inglemoor came up short against Mercer Island when the teams last played back in December of 2023, falling 58-51. Can Inglemoor avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
