Basketball Recap: St. Bede Sets Scoring Season-High Against Putnam County

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Dixon, St. Bede was happy to have turned things around on Monday. They took down the Putnam County Panthers 49-30. The Bruins' offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.

St. Bede's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Savannah Bray, who almost dropped a double-double on 20 points and nine boards. The dominant performance also gave Bray a new career-high in assists (three). Ashlyn Ehm was another key player, dropping a double-double on ten points and 12 rebounds.

St. Bede's win bumped their record up to 3-6. As for Putnam County, their loss was their fifth straight at home dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 3-6.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. St. Bede will challenge Henry-Senachwine at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Putnam County, they will welcome Dwight at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
