Volleyball Recap: Bahar Stump and Kira Van Deusen Secure Win for Jamestown + How To Watch

Jamestown won the last time they faced Gloucester and things went their way on Wednesday too. The Eagles came out on top against the Dukes by a score of 3-1.

Jamestown was especially dominant in the fourth set. The match finished with set scores of 25-17, 25-17, 23-25, 25-6.

Leading Jamestown to victory were Kira Van Deusen and Bahar Stump. Van Deusen had 29 digs and three aces, while Stump had nine aces and three digs. With that strong performance, Stump is now averaging an impressive 13.5 assists per game. Peyton Tilley was another key player, getting five digs and three aces.

They weren't the only good servers: Jamestown was lethal from the service line and finished the match with 22 aces. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now served at least five aces in 29 consecutive contests dating back to last season.

Jamestown is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 8-3 record this season. As for Gloucester, they dropped their record down to 0-11 with the loss, which was their seventh straight at home dating back to last season.

Jamestown and Gloucester could both be facing uphill battles in their next games considering their disadvantage in the MaxPreps Virginia Rankings. The Eagles will square off against Grafton at 6:30 p.m. on Monday with a big rank disadvantage (156 vs. 41). Meanwhile, Gloucester (ranked 385th) will meet Tabb (ranked 161st) at 6:30 p.m. on Monday.
