Wachusett Regional had to kick off their season on the road on Friday, but they showed no ill effects. They came out on top against the Franklin Panthers by a score of 23-14. For the Mountaineers, this counts as revenge for the 36-0 victory the Panthers walked away with the last time they faced one another back in September of 2024.

Franklin is on a five-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-2.

Coming up, Wachusett Regional will be playing at home against West Springfield at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Franklin, they will hit the road for the first time this season to take on Brockton at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
