Live Oak is 6-1 against Dutchtown since February of 2018 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Thursday. The Eagles will square off against the Griffins at 6:00 p.m. Live Oak will be looking to extend their current 11-game winning streak.

Live Oak's pitching crew heads into the matchup hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Tuesday. They skirted past Opelousas Catholic 1-0.

Zant Gurney and Rezin Lindsay dominated on the mound. Gurney tossed three innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits, while Lindsay didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits over four innings pitched. Gurney has been consistent : he hasn't given up more than one earned run in seven consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Dekohta Jones was excellent, going 2-for-3 with one triple and one run.

Meanwhile, it may have taken eight innings to finish the job, but Dutchtown ultimately got the result they hoped for on Tuesday. They had just enough and edged out East Ascension 2-1. The Griffins haven't had any issues with the Spartans recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive win against them.

Live Oak pushed their record up to 24-4 with the victory, which was their sixth straight at home. The home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.5 runs on average over those games. As for Dutchtown, their record now sits at 24-12.

Live Oak couldn't quite finish off Dutchtown in their previous meeting back in March of 2024 and fell 6-4. Can the Eagles avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
