Soccer Recap: Caldwell Comes Up Short

Caldwell was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They lost 8-0 to the Salado Eagles. While losing is never fun, the Hornets can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas soccer rankings (they are ranked 798th, while the Eagles are ranked 145th).

Caldwell's defeat dropped their record down to 1-15-1. As for Salado, they pushed their record up to 16-3-3 with the win, which was their ninth straight at home.

Coming up, Caldwell will welcome Smithville at 5:15 p.m. on Tuesday. Caldwell is facing Smithville at the right time seeing as Smithville is stuck on a nine-game losing streak. As for Salado, they will venture away from home to take on Taylor at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Salado is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 3.8 goals per game this season.
