Football Game Preview: Newfield Wolverines vs. Northport Tigers

The Newfield Wolverines will challenge the Northport Tigers at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday. The two teams are strolling into their matchups after big wins in their previous games.

Newfield is headed in fresh off scoring the most points they have all season. Everything went their way against West Babylon on Saturday as they made off with a 28-7 victory. The Wolverines not only won on Saturday, but they posted their biggest win since October 5, 2024 (when they won 49-7).

Meanwhile, Northport strolled into their game on Saturday with a perfect record and they left with the same. They breezed past Deer Park to the tune of 33-6. The result was nothing new for the Tigers, who have now won three contests by 27 points or more so far this season.

Newfield better keep an eye on Simon Blissett. He was instrumental in Northport's win, throwing for 335 yards and three touchdowns while completing 80% of his passes, and also rushing for 71 yards and one TD on only eight carries. Those 335 passing yards gave Blissett a new career-high. Greyson Cabrera was another key player, gaining 188 total yards and a touchdown.

Northport's defense made their presence known, laying out the QB five times. In that department, Daniel Miller was the leader with three sacks.

The win got Newfield back to even at 2-2. As for Northport, their victory bumped their record up to 4-0.
