Softball Recap: Cypress Takes a Loss

Cypress has relied on a stalwart pitchers averaging 3.58 runs allowed per game, but that average took a hit on Thursday. They came up short against the Canyon Comanches, falling 12-1. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest loss the Centurions have suffered against the Comanches since April 13, 2017.

Makayla Bishop was cooking despite her team's loss, going a perfect 3-for-3 with one triple and one run. That triple was her first of the season.

Cypress has been struggling recently as they've lost six of their last eight contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 12-7 record this season. As for Canyon, their victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 17-6.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Cypress will challenge Los Alamitos at 3:15 p.m. on Monday. The Griffins will roll in looking for their fourth straight win, something the Centurions surely won't give up without a fight. As for Canyon, they will take on Esperanza at 3:15 p.m. on Thursday.
