Baseball Recap: Make It Three in a Row for Roswell

Roswell proved they can win big on Thursday (they won by 13) and on Friday they proved they can win the close ones too. They had just enough and edged out the Santa Fe Demons 6-5. Winning may never get old, but the Coyotes sure are getting used to it with their third in a row.

Roswell's victory was truly a team effort as six different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Luke Lynn, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 1-for-4. Lynn has become a key player for the Coyotes: the team is 3-1 when he posts at least two runs, but 4-8 otherwise. Another was Joaquin Bolanos, who scored a run while going 1-for-4.

Roswell's win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 7-9. They've had to fight for that success though, as they only beat their opponents by an average of one runs across that stretch. As for Santa Fe, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 4-11.

Coming up, Roswell will be playing at home against Artesia at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Santa Fe, they will venture away from home to square off against Sandia at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. The Matadors' pitching crew has only allowed 3.9 runs per game this season, so the Demons' hitters will have their work cut out for them.
