Baseball Game Preview: Pacific Ridge Firebirds vs. Guajome Park Academy Frogs

For the second straight game, Pacific Ridge will face off against Guajome Park Academy. The Firebirds will head out to challenge the Frogs at 2:30 p.m. on Friday. Pacific Ridge is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.4 runs per game this season.

On Wednesday, Pacific Ridge made easy work of Guajome Park Academy and carried off a 10-4 victory. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Firebirds.

Madden Lafleur made a big impact no matter where he played. On the mound, he struck out seven batters over seven innings while giving up just two earned (and two unearned) runs off four hits (and only one walk). Those seven strikeouts gave him a new career-high. He was also big at the plate, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 3-for-4.

In other batting news, Michael Fredericks was incredible, going 1-for-3 with one home run, four RBI, and two runs. Pacific Ridge is undefeated when Fredericks posts two or more runs, but 2-6 otherwise. Another player making a difference was Cal Chivers, who scored two runs and stole a base while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances.

Guajome Park Academy is on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-11. As for Pacific Ridge, their win bumped their record up to 5-6.
