Softball Recap: Cherokee Trail Triumphs

It was a proper cat-fight when Cherokee Trail took on Lutheran on Friday. The Cougars came out on top in a nail-biter against the Lions, sneaking past 6-4.

Emma Rice was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, pitching two innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. Rice was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-4 with three RBI and one double.

In other batting news, Isabelle Becker was excellent, going 2-for-4 with two runs, one triple, and one stolen base. Tayah Burton was another key player, going 1-for-3 with two stolen bases and two runs.

The win got Cherokee Trail back to even at 1-1. As for Lutheran, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-3.

Coming up, Cherokee Trail will square off against Columbine at 9:00 a.m. on Saturday. As for Lutheran, they will venture away from home to challenge Ponderosa at 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
