Baseball Recap: Verona Comes Up Short

Verona was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their 26th straight loss dating back to last season. They lost 15-0 to the New Heights Christian Academy Cougars. If the Wildcats were looking for revenge after losing 10-0 to the Cougars when the teams met back in April of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Verona's defeat dropped their record down to 0-8. As for New Heights Christian Academy, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 4-1.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Verona will face off against Galena at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. The Wildcats' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Bears have averaged an impressive 11 runs per game this season. As for New Heights Christian Academy, they will host Ash Grove at 1:00 p.m. on Friday.
