Baseball Game Preview: Dover Senators vs. Sussex Academy Seahawks

The Dover Senators will take on the Sussex Academy Seahawks at 4:15 p.m. on Thursday.

Dover is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of Delaware's top teams: Salesianum, who was ranked 14th at the time (Dover was ranked 12th). The Senators fell 7-4 to the Sallies on Tuesday. The Senators have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Meanwhile, after only one run in their last contest, Sussex Academy made sure to put some runs up on the board against Tatnall on Wednesday. The Seahawks put the hurt on the Hornets with a sharp 12-2 victory. Considering the Seahawks' hitters had been struggling lately, the high-scoring outing was a much-needed turnaround.

Dover's defeat dropped their record down to 4-4. As for Sussex Academy, their win ended a four-game drought at home and bumped them up to 4-8.

Dover was able to grind out a solid victory over Sussex Academy when the teams last played back in April of 2024, winning 4-0. Do the Senators have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Seahawks turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
