Baseball Recap: Gilbert Classical Academy Has No Trouble Against San Carlos

Gilbert Classical Academy's game last Tuesday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Thursday. Everything went their way against the San Carlos Braves as they made off with a 22-6 win. The result was nothing new for the Spartans, who have now won four matchups by six runs or more so far this season.

Gilbert Classical Academy got a massive performance out of Beckett Elliott, who scored five runs and stole two bases while going 4-for-4. That's the most stolen bases Elliott has posted since back in March of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Hobey Hartman, who went 3-for-4 with three runs, three RBI, and one triple.

Gilbert Classical Academy was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .517. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as San Carlos only posted a batting average of .211.

Gilbert Classical Academy's record is now 4-5-1. As for San Carlos, they dropped their record down to 0-8 with the defeat, which was their fifth straight at home.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Gilbert Classical Academy will face off against Arizona Lutheran Academy at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. The Spartans are facing the Coyotes at the right time seeing as the Coyotes are stuck on a three-game losing streak. As for San Carlos, they will square off against Chandler Prep at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
