Lone Peak, De La Salle and Bixby join the Blue Tornado as rankings newcomers.

Friday was filled with upsets, making for one of the wildest weekends of high school football we have seen in recent memory. The biggest came in Tennessee as McCallie (Chattanooga, Tenn.) took down then-ranked No. 6 Mission Viejo (Calif.) 25-14.

McCallie, Tennessee's two-time defending Division II-AAA state champ, was one of four new teams to join the MaxPreps Top 25 and check in at No. 21.

Joining McCallie is Lone Peak (Highland, Utah)De La Salle (Concord, Calif.) and Bixby (Okla.) checking in at No. 20, No. 24 and No. 25, respectively.

Lone Peak took down previously-ranked Corner Canyon (Draper, Utah) 42-21. Four-star Utah commit Jaron Pula had a monster night catching nine passes for 162 yards and three touchdowns.

De La Salle improved to 4-0 with a 47-20 win over Grant (Sacramento). The Northern California power is allowing 6.5 points per game and has one of the best rushing attacks in the state led by Jaden Jefferson and Duece Jones-Drew.

A seven-time defending state champ in Oklahoma, Bixby is off to a 3-0 start and has outscored its first three opponents 162-35.

Mater Dei (Santa Ana, Calif.) bounced back with a huge road win beating Bishop Gorman (Las Vegas) 27-24. The Monarchs jumped up two spots to No. 6 while the Gaels dropped five spots to No. 7. Ryan Hopkins completed 15 of 19 passes for 252 yards and three scores in the victory. Mark Bowman and Chris Henry Jr. were his two favorite targets combining for 11 catches for 221 yards and all three touchdowns.

Sierra Canyon (Chatsworth, Calif.) and Carrollton (Ga.) were the two big movers this week both jumping up five spots.

The Trailblazers check in at No. 8 and finished non-league action with an impressive 41-9 win over Orange Lutheran (Orange). They have outscored their first five opponents 233-16.

The Trojans improved to 6-0 after snapping a 14-game win streak for Parker (Birmingham, Ala.) with a dominant 43-7 victory. Head coach Joey King's group is winning by an average margin of 31.5 points per game.
