Softball Game Preview: Celina Bobcats vs. McKinney Lions

A feisty cat fight will be fought as the Bobcats take on the Lions at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. Celina has given up an average of 11.5 runs per game this season, so hopefully the team got some pitching drills in this week.

Celina is coming in off a wild two-game stretch: after soaring to 11 runs on Friday, they were much more limited against McKinney Boyd on Friday. They came up short against the Broncos, falling 11-1.

Meanwhile, McKinney came up short against Sachse on Friday and fell 11-7.

Kady Huggins was cooking despite her team's loss, going 3-for-4 with one home run and one stolen base. What's more, she posted three hits, the most she's had since back in March of 2024. Avery Beirnes was another key player, scoring a run while going 1-for-3.

McKinney has traveled a rocky road recently having lost nine of their last ten contests. That lines up perfectly with their 1-13-1 record this season. Celina's loss was their eighth straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 1-11.
