Baseball Game Preview: Wimberley Texans vs. Pleasanton Eagles

For the second straight game, Wimberley will face off against Pleasanton. The Texans will face off against the Eagles at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Wimberley is coming into the match hot, having won their last three games.

Wimberley is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Thursday. Their pitchers stepped up to hand Pleasanton a 6-0 shutout.

Jackson Parker looked comfortable as he tossed three innings while giving up no earned runs off three hits. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two walks in four consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Ty Thames was excellent, going a perfect 3-for-3 with three RBI and one stolen base. That's the most hits he has posted since back in March. The team also got some help courtesy of Bryson Anderson, who went 1-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.

Pleasanton moved to 28-5 with that defeat, which also ended their four-game winning streak. As for Wimberley, their victory bumped their record up to 19-6-1.

Pleasanton's pitching crew better be locked in on Friday. Wimberley hasn't had any problems when it comes to power this season, having averaged 0.5 home runs per game.
