Baseball Game Preview: Fort Cherry Rangers vs. South Side Rams

The Fort Cherry Rangers will challenge the South Side Rams at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

After dropping their season opener at home, South Side is headed out to face a Rangers team ready to give their home crowd a win. Fort Cherry fell just short of Freedom Area by a score of 16-15 on Tuesday. Rangers fans who chose to attend the game sure picked the wrong one: it was the first time the team's lost against the Bulldogs since on Tuesday.

Matt Sieg and Blake Merckle did some serious damage despite the final result: Sieg scored two runs while going 2-for-5, while Merckle scored two runs while going 2-for-2.

Meanwhile, South Side scored first but ultimately less than Eden Christian Academy in their match on Friday. They lost 12-5 to Eden Christian Academy.

South Side saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Andrew Corfield, who scored a run while going 1-for-4.

Fort Cherry couldn't quite finish off South Side when the teams last played back in April of 2017 and fell 9-7. Can Fort Cherry avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
