Softball Recap: Ruston's Losing Streak Is a Thing of the Past

Ruston had to endure a seven-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They walked away with a 7-3 victory over the Neville Tigers on Thursday. This was a revenge game for the Bearcats: when they faced off against the Tigers back in March, they had to take a 14-3 loss.

The team relied heavily on Morgan Foster, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 1-for-3. She has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last three times she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Aubrey Stoehr, who went 2-for-4 with one triple and one run.

Ruston's win was their first in the district, bumping their district record up to 1-7 and their overall record up to 9-14. As for Neville, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost six of their last seven matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-16 record this season.

Ruston will host Ouachita Parish at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Neville, they will venture away from home to face off against Haughton at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
