Football Recap: Florida School for the Deaf & Blind Takes a Loss

Florida School for the Deaf & Blind blew Matanzas out of the water the last time the pair played, but on Thursday Matanzas got their revenge. The Florida School for the Deaf & Blind Dragons fell just short of the Matanzas Pirates by a score of 9-7. The match was a 7-7 toss-up at halftime, but the Dragons couldn't quite close it out.

This is the second loss in a row for Florida School for the Deaf & Blind and nudges their season record down to 2-2. As for Matanzas, their win ended a six-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 3-3.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Florida School for the Deaf & Blind will square off against Ridgeview at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Florida School for the Deaf & Blind's defense has only allowed 11.2 points per game this season, so Ridgeview's offense will have their work cut out for them. As for Matanzas, they will take on Mainland at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The two teams have allowed few points on average, (Mainland: 12.3, Matanzas: 13.7) so any points scored will be well earned.
