Softball Game Preview: Heritage Christian Academy Eagles vs. Cornerstone Christian Chargers

The Heritage Christian Academy Eagles will challenge the Cornerstone Christian Chargers at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. Heritage Christian Academy is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7.6 runs per game this season.

Thursday just wasn't the day for Heritage Christian Academy's offense. They might be feeling deja-vu: they lost 8-0 to Ezekiel Academy, which was the same score (and result) they got the week prior. The Eagles' loss continues a trend for the team, making it three in a row.

Meanwhile, Cornerstone Christian had to kick off their season on the road back in February, but they showed no ill effects. They were the clear victor by a 21-1 margin over Sparta Academy.

Kenzie Bailey was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out six batters over three innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits. Bailey was also stellar in the batter's box, scoring two runs and stealing Two bases. while going 3-for-4.

In other batting news, Cornerstone Christian got a massive performance out of Katelyn Keef, who scored three runs and stole Four bases. while going 4-for-4. Another player making a difference was Taylor Brownlee, who scored two runs and stole Two bases. while going 3-for-4.

Heritage Christian Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 5-11. As for Cornerstone Christian, their victory bumped their record up to 1-0.

Heritage Christian Academy beat Cornerstone Christian 3-0 in their previous meeting back in February of 2023. Will Heritage Christian Academy repeat their success, or does Cornerstone Christian have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
