Recap: East Butler Tigers vs. Shelby-Rising City Huskies
The East Butler Tigers suffered their biggest loss since December 7, 2023 on Tuesday. They suffered a tough 43-19 loss at the hands of Shelby-Rising City. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points East Butler has scored all season.
Madison Dewitt was East Butler's leading scorer, having posted nine points.
Madalynn Marsh held things down on the boards with 14 rebounds. She took the lead distributing the ball, coming up with two assists.
Taya Pinneo continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines for Shelby-Rising City, scoring 22 points along with four steals. That makes it five consecutive games in which Pinneo has scored at least a third of Shelby-Rising City's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Ava Larmon, who scored eight points along with seven rebounds and two steals.
This is the second loss in a row for East Butler and nudges their season record down to 6-8. As for Shelby-Rising City, the win got them back to even at 7-7.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. East Butler will take on Meridian at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Hopefully Meridian focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 29 on Monday. As for Shelby-Rising City, Shelby-Rising City and Nebraska Christian will face off at 6:00 p.m. on January 30th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday.
