Basketball Recap: Raleigh Christian Academy Comes Up Short

Raleigh Christian Academy had lost three straight at home, but on Monday they dropped down to 3-5 to make it four. They took a blow against the Cornerstone Christian Academy Cougars, falling 76-48. The Eagles were down 60-32 at the end of the third quarter, which was just too much to recover from.

As for Cornerstone Christian Academy, the win (which was their fifth in a row) raised their record to 5-1. They have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won five games by 28 points or more this season.

Cornerstone Christian Academy was led to victory by Jordan Lemmon and Isaac Tadlock. Lemmon dropped a double-double with 28 points and ten rebounds, while Tadlock almost dropped a double-double with 22 points and nine boards. Lemmon's big performance that evening made it six games in a row in which he has scored at least 17 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Josiah Erby, who posted ten points and five steals.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Raleigh Christian Academy won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Calvary Christian at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Cornerstone Christian Academy, they will be home for the holidays to greet Lee Christian at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. The Cougars will be up against the Falcons' rather soft defense (which has allowed 55.33 points per matchup), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance.
