Baseball Recap: Amber-Pocasset Starts Season with Win on the Road

Amber-Pocasset had to kick off their season on the road on Monday, but they showed no ill effects. Their pitchers stepped up to hand the Vanoss Wolves a 10-0 shutout. The victory was nothing new for the Panthers as they're now sitting on eight straight dating back to last season.

The team relied heavily on Briar Anglin, who scored two runs while going 1-for-2. That's the most runs he has posted since back in April of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Trace Barry, who scored a run while going 1-for-1.

Amber-Pocasset always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .556. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Vanoss only posted an OBP of .154.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. A feisty cat fight will be fought as Amber-Pocasset Panthers face off against Stroud Tigers at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Vanoss, they are packing up and heading out on the road for their first away game this season: they will face off against Stratford at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Vanoss is coming into the matchup on a six-game losing streak dating back to last season.
