Baseball Recap: Round Rock Christian Academy Snaps Eight-Game Streak of Losses on the Road

Round Rock Christian Academy posted their closest win since March 1, 2024 on Thursday. They narrowly escaped with a victory as the squad sidled past Grace Academy 10-9. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Crusaders also won the last time the pair played back in March of 2022.

Jesse Wehba made a splash no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, pitching three innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. He also tossed no earned runs, which is notable because Round Rock Christian Academy is 2-1 when he allows at most one earned run, but 1-5 otherwise. Wehba was also stellar in the batter's box, scoring three runs and stealing Two bases. while going 4-for-4. The dominant performance gave him a new career-high in runs.

Wehba wasn't the only one making solid contact as three players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Austin Chamblee, who scored two runs while going 2-for-3. Kason Reynolds also deserves some recognition as he scored his first run of the season.

Round Rock Christian Academy hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Grace Academy struck out 11 times.

Round Rock Christian Academy's win ended an eight-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 3-6. As for Grace Academy, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 2-2.

Coincidentally, Round Rock Christian Academy and Grace Academy will both be playing New Braunfels Thunder the next time they take the field. Grace Academy will host New Braunfels Thunder at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, while Round Rock Christian Academy will host them at 7:00 p.m. on Monday.
