Baseball Game Preview: Canyon Comanches vs. Pacifica Mariners

For the second straight game, Canyon will face off against Pacifica. The Comanches will head out on the road to challenge the Mariners at 3:30 p.m. on Friday. Canyon hasn't scored more than two runs for three games straight, a trend the squad is eager to reverse.

On Wednesday, Canyon didn't have quite enough to beat Pacifica and fell 3-2.

Canyon got a good showing from Nathan Fuzzard, who pitched 2.1 innings while giving up no earned runs off three hits. Fuzzard has been consistent for a while: he hasn't given up more than two walks in nine consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Canyon saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Camden Goetz, who went 2-for-3 with one double.

Pacifica has been performing well recently as they've won six of their last eight contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 12-7 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.0 runs on average over those games. As for Canyon, they now have a losing record of 10-11.
