Volleyball Recap: Yuba City Comes Up Short

Yuba City was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They were a single set away from ending the streak, but they lost a 2-1 heartbreaker at the hands of the Rio Americano Raiders.

Rio Americano found their leader in sophomore Emma Simmons, who had 14 digs and four aces. Those 14 digs set a new season-high mark for Simmons.

Yuba City now has a losing record of 2-3. As for Rio Americano, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven games. That's provided a nice bump to their 10-2 record this season.

Yuba City wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next match, a 2-0 loss against Cosumnes Oaks on the 6th. As for Rio Americano, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 2-0 victory against Napa on the 6th.
