Baseball Recap: St. Vincent de Paul Comes Up Short

After flying high against South Fork on Saturday, St. Vincent de Paul came back down to earth. The Mustangs fell 5-2 to the Montgomery Vikings on Wednesday. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Vikings this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 15-1 back in April.

Tyler Chelew made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 3-for-4 with one stolen base and one run. He has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last three times he's played.

St. Vincent de Paul's record is now 4-18. As for Montgomery, they moved to 10-13 with that victory, which also ended their three-game losing streak.

While St. Vincent de Paul had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 4:00 p.m. on Friday.
