Baseball Recap: Make It Four in a Row for East Lake

East Lake came tearing into Thursday's contest with three straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 6.7 runs), and they left with even more momentum. They were the clear victors by an 11-3 margin over the Pinellas Park Patriots. Considering the Eagles have won seven matches by more than five runs this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.

Eli Millian made a splash no matter where he played. On the mound, he tossed four innings while giving up just one earned run off four hits. Millian was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with three RBI. Those three RBI gave him a new career-high.

In other pitching news, JT Taylor looked comfortable as he tossed one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. Furthermore, he didn't allow a single earned run, the first time he has blanked an opponent since back in February.

Back at the plate, Camden Boehm was incredible, going 2-for-4 with three RBI, two runs, and one triple. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in February. Another player making a difference was Andrew Sheffield, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 2-for-3.

East Lake was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .400. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Pinellas Park only posted a batting average of .269.

East Lake's record now sits at 12-5. As for Pinellas Park, their loss dropped their record down to 7-12.

Coming up, East Lake will venture away from home to square off against Neumann at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. East Lake is facing Neumann at the right time seeing as Neumann is stuck on a five-game losing streak. As for Pinellas Park, they will welcome IMG Academy Navy at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
