Preview: Friends' Central vs. William Penn Charter Quakers

Friends' Central has enjoyed a two-game homestand but will soon have to dust off their road jerseys. They will take on the William Penn Charter Quakers at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. One thing working in Friends' Central's favor is that they have posted big point totals every time they've taken the court this season.

Even though Episcopal Academy scored an imposing 58 points on Saturday, Friends' Central still came out on top. Friends' Central strolled past Episcopal Academy with points to spare, taking the game 72-58. Given Friends' Central's advantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania basketball rankings (they are ranked seventh, while Episcopal Academy is ranked 210th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Friends' Central's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Muhsin Muhammad, who scored 21 points. Reid Belcher was another key contributor, scoring 16 points.

Meanwhile, William Penn Charter blew past Simon Gratz, posting a 70-36 victory at home. The win was just what William Penn Charter needed coming off of a 82-55 loss in their prior contest.

Friends' Central's victory bumped their season record to 6-1 while Episcopal Academy's defeat dropped theirs to 1-2.

Friends' Central came up short against William Penn Charter in their previous matchup back in December of 2021, falling 66-58. Can Friends' Central avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
