Soccer Game Preview: St. John's vs. Hanahan

The St. John's Islanders will head out to square off against the Hanahan Hawks at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.

Hanahan will be up against a hot St. John's team: the squad just extended their winning streak to five. The Islanders never let Branchville get on the board and left with a 4-0 victory on Thursday.

Meanwhile, Hanahan's game on Thursday was close up to the half, but then they kicked things up a notch. They blew past Battery Creek 3-0. The win was familiar territory for Hanahan, who have now won four matches in a row.

St. John's victory was their sixth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 12-5. The home wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 34 goals over those six contests. As for Hanahan, their victory bumped their record up to 12-3-1.

St. John's might still be hurting after the 4-1 defeat they got from Hanahan in their previous matchup back in March. Can the Islanders avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
