Central faced Athens in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Thursday. The Red Devils blew past the Golden Eagles 35-0. Considering the Red Devils have won 11 games by more than 19 points this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.

Central didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off four passes before the game was over. Lauren Carrero led the group effort, picking up two of those interceptions all by herself.

Central's victory bumped their record up to 12-0. As for Athens, their loss dropped their record down to 8-3.

Central didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next matchup, a 31-0 win against Enterprise on the 16th. As for Athens, they will venture away from home to face off against Austin at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Golden Eagles will need to watch out since the Black Bears have now posted at least 31 points every time they've taken the field this season.
