Softball Recap: Ocean Springs Takes a Loss

Ocean Springs was the 14-0 winner over Greene County when they last played one another last Friday, but their luck changed this time around. The Ocean Springs Greyhounds fell just short of the Greene County Wildcats by a score of 9-8 on Friday.

Ava Case was cooking despite her team's loss, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 4-for-4. Another player making a difference was Gracie Shepherd, who scored a run while going 2-for-4.

Case wasn't the only one working in the hit department: Ocean Springs kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 16 hits. That's the most hits they've posted since back in April of 2024.

Ocean Springs' defeat dropped their record down to 5-5. As for Greene County, their record is now 3-4.
