Softball Recap: Jacobs Golden Eagles vs. Lake Zurich Bears
Jacobs extended their losing streak to three on Wednesday, dropping their season record down to 17-19 in the process. They fell 3-0 to the Lake Zurich Bears. The Golden Eagles were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Bears earlier this season, when they won 7-2.
Skylee Ferrante spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned (and one unearned) runs on four hits and racked up seven Ks.
At the plate, Jacobs saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Talia Disilvio, who went 2-for-3 with one double.
As for Lake Zurich, they pushed their record up to 15-18-1 with the win, which was their third straight at home. The home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.7 runs on average over those games.
