Softball Game Preview: Benicia Panthers vs. Acalanes Dons

The Benicia Panthers will face off against the Acalanes Dons at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

On Thursday, Benicia came up short against Clayton Valley Charter and fell 6-3. The Panthers have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Benicia saw nine different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Kloie Ruiz, who went 3-for-4 with one double and one RBI. That double marked the first that Ruiz has hit this season. Arielle Der was another, going 2-for-3 with one double.

Meanwhile, Acalanes was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They came up short against College Park, falling 13-3. That's two games in a row now that the Dons have lost by exactly ten runs.

June Natal was cooking despite her team's loss, going 2-for-4 with one home run and three RBI.

Acalanes' defeat dropped their record down to 9-7. As for Benicia, their loss dropped their record down to 11-9.

Benicia took their win against Acalanes when the teams last played back in April by a conclusive 12-0 score. Will the Panthers repeat their success, or do the Dons have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
