Independence strolled into their game  on Monday with a perfect  record and they left with the same. Everything went their way against the Cuyahoga Heights Red Wolves as they made off with  a  12-1 win. The  matchup marked the Blue Devils' most dominant  victory of the  season so far.
 Lila Manfredonia and  Rabecca Gibson were a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound,  Manfredonia   pitched three innings while giving up   no  earned runs or  hits. Meanwhile,  Gibson   pitched three innings while giving up   no  earned runs off   three  hits. Manfredonia has been consistent : she hasn't  given up  more than two  hits any time she's  pitched this season. At bat,  Manfredonia  got on base  in four of her five plate appearances with one  home run and two  runs, while  Gibson  scored two  runs while going 2-for-3.
 In other batting news,  Macey McGhee was  incredible,  going 2-for-5 with four  RBI, two  runs,  and one  stolen base. Those  four  RBI gave  her a new career-high.  Brooke Vollman was another key player,  scoring two  runs while  getting on base  in four of her five plate appearances.
 Independence  hit smart and  finished the game with only two  strikeouts. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Cuyahoga Heights struck out seven times.
Independence pushed their record up to 7-0 with the  win, which was their third straight  on the road. The  road  victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.3 runs on average over those games. As for Cuyahoga Heights,  this is the second loss in a row for them and  nudges their season record down to 2-3.
 Looking ahead, Independence will head out to  challenge Triway  at 5:00  p.m.  on Tuesday. The Titans will roll in looking for their  fifth straight  win, something the Blue Devils surely won't give up without a fight. As for Cuyahoga Heights, they will welcome Columbia  at 5:00  p.m.  on Wednesday.
