Basketball Recap: Joy Kenfack's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Goldwater over Moon Valley

Goldwater was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their 23rd straight defeat dating back to last season. They took a 45-30 bruising from the Moon Valley Rockets. The Bulldogs were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Rockets apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in December of 2023.

Goldwater's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Joy Kenfack, who posted ten points and seven rebounds.

It was another big night for Aniston Pattershall, who scored 13 points in addition to six steals and five assists for Moon Valley. Pattershall is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last four games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Kamariana Shaw, who put up ten points.

Goldwater's loss dropped their record down to 0-13. As for Moon Valley, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 9-7.

Goldwater has already played their next contest, a 58-21 defeat against Greenway on the 28th. As for Moon Valley, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next match, a 51-26 loss against Apollo on the 24th.
