Volleyball Recap: Mt. Vernon Comes Up Short

Mt. Vernon and Mater Dei squared off in some playoff action on Tuesday, but Mt. Vernon had to settle for second. They took a 2-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Knights. The Rams' defeat continues a trend for the team, making it six in a row.

Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-10, 25-19.

Mt. Vernon's loss dropped their record down to 10-21. As for Mater Dei, they are on a roll lately: they've won 11 of their last 12 contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 30-6 record this season.

Mt. Vernon does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Mater Dei, they will face off against Centralia at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
