Basketball Recap: South Davidson Wildcats vs. North Moore Mustangs
South Davidson was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They fell 47-34 to the North Moore Mustangs. The Wildcats were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Mustangs apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in January of 2023.

South Davidson's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Anna Smith, who posted 11 points and five boards. That's the most points Smith has posted since back in December of 2023. Another player making a difference was Kayra Hulin, who put up 12 points.
Calissa Clendenin was her usual excellent self, dropping a double-double on 16 points and 13 boards for North Moore. With that strong performance, Clendenin is now averaging an impressive 8.8 rebounds per game. Ansley Preslar was another key player, putting up nine points.
South Davidson's defeat dropped their record down to 2-5. As for North Moore, their victory ended a six-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 1-3.
South Davidson wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 72-29 loss against Lexington on the 13th. As for North Moore, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 49-24 defeat against Jordan-Matthews on the 17th.
