Volleyball Recap: New Albany Takes a Loss

New Albany was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They fell 3-1 to the Kossuth Aggies. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Bulldogs of the 3-1 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in August of 2023.

The final score came out to 25-23, 25-14, 17-25, 25-13.

Despite the loss, New Albany still got an impressive performance from Lizzie Moore, who had ten digs and one assist. Moore has been hot recently, having posted ten or more digs the last three times she's played. Khloe Carter also deserves some recognition as she had her first block of the season.

Among those leading the charge was Chloe Caldwell, who had 12 digs and four aces. Those 12 digs gave her a new career-high.

New Albany now has a losing record of 2-3-2. As for Kossuth, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 4-1-2.

New Albany has already played their next contest (against Pontotoc), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. As for Kossuth, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 3-2 win against Tishomingo County on the 11th.
