Baseball Recap: St. Mary Gets the Win

St. Mary won the last time they faced Carlisle County and things went their way on Friday too. The Vikings walked away with a 9-4 victory over the Comets.

Kolson Durbin made a splash no matter where he played. He kept things locked down with no earned runs or hits over four innings pitched. He has been consistent: he hasn't given up more than two hits in five consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-2 with one triple, two RBI, and one run. That triple marked the first that he has hit this season.

In other batting news, Brett Haas was incredible, going 1-for-3 with one home run and two RBI. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in May of 2024. Another player making a difference was Jake Morris, who went 2-for-3 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run.

St. Mary's record now sits at 15-3. As for Carlisle County, their loss dropped their record down to 10-10.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. St. Mary will take on Paducah Tilghman at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for Carlisle County, they will face off against Fulton County at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. The Comets are facing the Pilots at the right time seeing as the Pilots are stuck on a five-game losing streak.
