Roosevelt had to kick off their season on the road on Monday, but they showed no ill effects. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Cuyahoga Falls Black Tigers, sneaking past 8-7. The Rough Riders have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Black Tigers, too.

The team relied heavily on Skylar Lauck, who went 1-for-3 with two runs, one triple, and one RBI. Kamia Green was another key player, going 2-for-4 with two doubles.

Roosevelt has already played their next matchup, a 12-9 loss against Streetsboro on the 29th. As for Cuyahoga Falls, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 7-6 victory against North Olmsted on the 27th.
