Basketball Recap: Sarcoxie Takes a Loss

Sarcoxie was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their seventh straight loss. They took a blow against the Lighthouse Christian Chargers, falling 77-38. While losing is never fun, the Bears can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Missouri basketball rankings (they are ranked 473rd, while the Chargers are ranked 81st).

Lighthouse Christian was led to victory by Judah Louderback and Elijah Rahn. Louderback went 6 of 11 from beyond the arc en route to 26 points in addition to five boards and four steals, while Rahn went 7 for 10 on his way to 23 points and three steals. Louderback has been hot, having posted two or more steals the last seven times he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Jojo Rahn, who posted 11 points and three steals.

Sarcoxie's defeat dropped their record down to 6-11. As for Lighthouse Christian, they have been performing well recently as they've won nine of their last 11 contests, which provided a nice bump to their 17-6 record this season.

When Sarcoxie and Lighthouse Christian next hit the court, they'll be up against teams who recently just can't seem to lose. Sarcoxie will try to stop Pierce City's three-game winning streak when the meet at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Lighthouse Christian will face off against McAuley Catholic and their seven-game winning streak at 8:30 p.m. on Thursday.
